How to mesure the power of your electric engine?

Electric car engines are now comparable in power to combustion engines. As is the case with its counterpart, the power of an electric engine is tested using a test rig and expressed in kilowatts or horsepower (1 kW=1.35 hp).

For example, the R110 motor from the Renault ZOE offers 80 kW, equivalent to 110 hp.

Also note that an electric engine with its mechanical reducer, electronic control and charger is lighter and less bulky than a combustion powertrain with the equivalent power.
