AC and DC

AC (Alternative Current) and DC (Direct Current) are two types of electrical current. Both are available at charging stations for electric cars. In private locations like homes and workplaces, and at the vast majority of public charging points, alternative current is supplied. To convert it into direct current, a charger is built right into the vehicle. Current AC facilities allow for fast charging at up to 43 kW. Direct current (DC) can go higher, with charging stations delivering upwards of 50 kW. The Renault Caméléon® charger maximizes AC charging possibilities on the new ZOE, which also offers DC charging thanks to the combo plug.
