A genuine interface between a vehicle and the energy distribution infrastructure, an electric car’s charger is its indispensable companion. Its job is to adapt the current supplied by the charging station (single-phase, three-phase, 220V or 400V, AC or DC) to meet the requirements of the vehicle’s battery. An intelligent charger like the Caméléon™ (Chameleon), developed by Renault, makes the most of any type of AC charging station up to 43 kW.
